**Inspiration #1: Is There A Better Way To Ape?**

Orangutans are one of nature's Great Apes, commonly referred to as "Gardeners Of The Forest" due to their contributions to the maintenance, regeneration, and biodiversity of their environments. "Aping", an investment term, is a reckless act commonly performed by "Degens" where an individual quickly invests in a new or hyped digital asset without conducting thorough research or due diligence.

Understanding that many investments are made under these poorly informed conditions, the Orangutan NFT Collection was created to provide investors/traders with a steady supply of assets to acquire exclusively peer-reviewed assets, where research and due diligence have already been done for them.

### Mechanics

The 50 Gardening Orangutan NFTs have an internal timer that permits one daily mint of 5,479 $Geeks Tokens. If the owner of the NFT does not claim the mint, the timer will carry over into the following day(s). For example, if the owner of the NFT claimed their $Geeks Tokens on Sunday and then waited 10 days before claiming again, they would receive 10 x 5,479 $Geeks Tokens upon the next claim.

On the Geeks Zoo dApp the amount of tokens that have been claimed so far will be displayed, as well as the amount of tokens available to claim. The value of the tokens minted by each orangutan can be seen in the table below based on $Geeks market cap on the Base Blockchain.

## Inspiration #2: How Can We Decentralize Inflation?

Inflation's primary purpose is to stimulate the economy. However, many people disagree on the uses of the money that is printed for this purpose and unfortunately, only one entity is responsible for the use of the printed funds, the government. The Gardening Orangutans take a decentralized approach to inflation, where the ownership of the printed funds is spread across 50 NFTs that can be acquired by anyone on a secondary market. The annual inflation rate is set to *a minimum of 5%*, and will eventually be controlled by regular votes via the $DeFi Tokens.

### TreeHouse Telegram Group

The TreeHouse is a token-gated Telegram group where the owners of the Orangutan NFTs gather and discuss what to do with the $Geeks Tokens that are being printed. Objectively, each NFT owner has three options for what to do with their tokens; sell them, buy $Geeks paired tokens, or do nothing. Provided that the group works together to facilitate the trading environment, they can collectively purchase $Geeks paired tokens, creating constant volatility and positive price action for assets within the Ecosystem.
